Ruth Schnellgeb. 1956 in Feldkirch, Vorarlberg

studied at the Academy of Design, Linz, Academy of Arts and University of Applied Arts, Vienna. Teacher of Arts Education, 1987; Diploma of Visual Media Art, 1988 at University of Applied Arts, Vienna, Department for New Media.

Lives and works as a free-lance artist of electronic media in Vienna, Austria. Since 1987, Lecturer in Video Art and professor for New Media at the Academy of Applied Arts, Vienna; Master Class for Visual Media (with Peter Weibel); 2007, head of the department for Digital Arts at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. 1990-96, lecturer at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts, Department of Film and Television, Vienna. 1995/96, guest professor for New Media at the Academy of Fine Arts, Bratislava (Slovakia), workshops on videoart and video as a media for dancers and choreographers.

Numerous projects in public space.
